Habitation Velier Providence 2020 is an outstanding pure single rum from Haiti that showcases the craft of Caribbean rum making. Distilled at the Distillerie de Port-au-Prince from Cristalline cane syrup and juice grown in Saint-Michel-de-l’Attalaye, this 2020 vintage was aged four years in ex-Caroni casks under tropical conditions.
Bottled at 55 % ABV without additives, it displays a deep golden colour and a rich aromatic profile. The nose combines spice (pepper, clove), ripe tropical fruits (banana, pineapple) and vanilla, with a pleasant hint of salinity. On the palate, it is lively yet creamy, with flavours of ginger, cinnamon, honey and candied citrus, followed by a long, slightly tannic and exotic finish with notes of coconut, lychee and pear.
Eminente Reserva embodies the 19th century Cuban rum revival, crafted by the island's youngest master rum maker and aged for a minimum of 7 years in white oak barrels. It is a unique type of rum composed of 70% aged aguardientes, the highest proportion of all Cuban rums.
Zacapa Edicion Negra is made using the “Sistema Solera” technique, during which rums aged between 6 and 23 years are blended and then aged in a succession of barrels. It benefits from an additional year of aging in toasted American oak barrels, which gives it a new, more structuring facet with intense smoky flavors.
